In the rules it says to only go for a 2pt conversion if you are down by 2.
The only time I would go for it is if I have 6 points and score a TD to make it 14 instead of 13. And that would not be every time but if i felt my opponet is moving it on me easy and i was stopping him by turnovers or lucky D play. Something along those lines. I hardley ever go for two and will always take the Pat, 9 times out of ten. I am assuming that you just dont want people going for it every time. Just like having the strategy part of the two point conversion at my disposal.
